– Keep dogs under close control
– Leave gates and property as you find them
– Do not pick wild flowers or remove any other flora
– Do not swim in any of our lakes or ponds, nor let your dog(s) swim

Donisthorpe Woodland Park

Donisthorpe Woodland Park is a 36-hectare former colliery site in The National Forest.  The site has been restored and now supports 20 hectares of beautiful mixed woodland and 3km (1.85 miles) of stone-surfaced paths, which are suitable for all users.

There are links to the 6km (3.7 miles) Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail and Moira Furnace (for details emailmoira.furnace@nwleics.gov.uk) along the towpath of the restored Ashby Canal.

Opening Times

All our parks are open every day. Beacon, Watermead North and Market Bosworth Country Parks car parks allow entry from 7am until the following times:

December – January – 4pm

February – 5pm

March – 6pm

April – 7pm

May – August – 8pm

September – 7pm

October – 6pm

November – 5pm

We do not permit overnight parking or camping.

Church Street, Donisthorpe, DE12 7PY. Vehicular entrance is shared with the Donisthorpe Miners’ Welfare Centre.

Free car park off Moira Road, open daily from 9am – 4pm (Oct – Mar), 9am – 7pm (Apr – Sept)
